Gemma and Colin on top of the world!

Gemma and Colin Wilson have successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, raising over £4300 for the fight against pancreatic cancer. The fantastic amount will be shared between The Elizabeth Coteman Fund and Pancreatic Cancer UK.

In addition to on-line donations, a total of £1660 was raised by Colin in his butcher’s shop in Brighton! Their truly wonderful effort was in memory of Gemma’s mum’s partner of 25 years – Les, who was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer towards the end of 2012 and sadly died in June 2013 – just 2 months after his 65th birthday.

Gemma said, “Les was the most positive person I have ever met, he had a warm effect on everyone he met, and he is very much missed.”

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 metres above sea level. That’s 19.5 Eiffel Towers stacked on top of each other! What a fantastic achievement – the climb and the fundraising!
