The Elizabeth Coteman Fund would like to thank friends of the late Ray Symonds for their donations following Ray’s sad death from pancreatic cancer last year. We are also extremely grateful to Ray’s family for thinking of us. A total of £1400 was shared equally between The Elizabeth Coteman Fund and the Arthur Rank Hospice.
The Fund was involved when Ray’s wife, Judy, asked for help to transport him from Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge to his daughter’s wedding in Ely. The Elizabeth Coteman Fund was able to arrange an ambulance, with supporting staff, to make sure Ray could give his daughter away on her wedding day. Although Ray was unwell at the time, he did wonderfully well, and the family were grateful that he was able to attend the ceremony. Judy, and the family, have given us permission to use this photograph of Ray on the special day – thank you Judy.
